French specifics we handle

Lieux-dits

Named places without a street number, common in rural communes.

CEDEX and PO boxes

Business mail destinations such as CEDEX and BP are recognised and normalised.

Merged communes

Communes nouvelles and their former communes.

Overseas territories

DOM-COM coverage depends on the completeness of the BAN there and will be stated per territory.

Messy input

Abbreviations, typos and missing parts are repaired and scored, as described on the pricing page.

When the free national API is enough

The public address API of the French state is free and good for occasional lookups. Consider Addrova when you need a contract and availability target, stored results with a clear licence, repair of messy addresses, batch files, or one API for several European countries.

France questions

Do I have to credit the BAN?

Yes. Licence Ouverte 2.0 requires attribution. Each Addrova response carries the source and licence so you can display them.

Are live examples available?

Not yet. Example requests and responses will be added when the service is live.
