Nominatim alternative: change the base URL
The public Nominatim service is not meant for heavy use. Addrova offers Nominatim-compatible search and reverse endpoints, with a rate limit that fits production and results you may store.
Why people leave the public instance
The OpenStreetMap Foundation usage policy for its public Nominatim server limits the request rate to about one per second and forbids heavy or bulk use. It is a shared service without guarantees. Check the current policy at operations.osmfoundation.org/policies/nominatim.

When not to choose Addrova
- You geocode a few addresses a day: the public instance, used within its policy, may be enough.
- You need worldwide OpenStreetMap coverage: Addrova targets Europe on official data first.
- You can self-host Nominatim and want full control of the stack.
